The Director

Alejandro “Bong” Ramos

Mr. Bong Ramos has been working for many years in both film and TV productions.  He worked as a line producer at Regal Films and as a writer (for soap operas and anthologies) and workshop facilitator at ABS-CBN.  In 2007, he made a directorial debut with the film “Haw-Ang” (English Title: Before Harvest) which won Accolade Award in California, USA.  His other directorial motion pictures include “Butas” (English Title: Loophole; 2009), “Big Night” (2009), “Pipo” (2009), “Halik sa Tubig” (2010), "Araro" (2010), and “Bangkang Papel” (2010).

Apart from some of the aforementioned films which he penned, his screenplay include "Ibulong Mo sa Diyos 2" (1997), "Anak ng Dilim" (1997), "Alindog ng Lahi" (1997), "Kamay ni Eva" (1999), and "In Da Red Corner" (2006).  He also contributed in TV series like ABS-CBN's Maalaala Mo Kaya for the "Episode Greeting Card" (2006) and TV5's "Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak" (2011)

Mr. Ramos also ventured in directing stage plays.  One of his stage directorial projects, “Jun at Johnny” (by Jun Lana), was mounted at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.  His succeeding directorial project, “Huling Pahina”, (also performed at UP Diliman) received overwhelming praises from professors and students. His third directorial project, “Pahimakas ni Donya Teodora”, with “Huling Pahina”, received great commendations from professors and students as it was performed at PUP Sta. Mesa.  His most recent project, “Ang Pasyon Ni Rizal” has made its debut performance at PUP Sta. Mesa where it also received outstanding acclamations and congratulatory remarks from both the professors and students.
