Butas 2 Uncut Version Premiered at UP

Ricky Lee and Joel Lamangan flanked by 3 viewers.
The premiere night of the film Butas 2 was successfully done at the UP Film Institute, University of the Philippines-Diliman last night, June 9, 2012.

What was shown was the UNCUT VERSION of the film which was approved by MTRCB with R-18 classification in a special review made by the Board last Friday.

Apart from the actors of the film, two of the guests present were Joel Lamangan, a popular and experienced film director, and Ricky Lee, a well-known and prolific script writer.

Indie film critics and enthusiasts like the film, particularly as to how it was executed by its director.  The actors appreciated how the camera artistically captured the frontal exposures and sexual scenes.

The same uncut version of the film shall be released through Leo Films in theaters in Metro Manila and Cebu on July 11, 2012.

Rufert John Lirio, Mocha Uson, and Ace Castro

The Struggle of Butas 2 at MTRCB

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has axed its policy over the exhibition of films when it reiterated its stand on the review of independent films prior to their respective premiere exhibitions.

Butas 2, a newly produced independent film, is the first one to be affected by that policy after so many films which had premiere screenings at UP Diliman without MTRCB reviews.

more information on this will be disclosed soon!

Amidst pressure, intrigues, absence of enough time, and imminent legal impediment, Butas 2 will still have its premiere screening at the UP Film Institute on Saturday, June 9, at 7 o'clock in the evening.

On the other hand, 21st Century BMJ Productions, Inc. wholeheartedly thanks Chairperson Mary Grace Poe-Llamanzares for her benevolence and assistance. Mabuhay po kayo Madam!

The Cast

Remember the indie film "Butas" that featured by Gwen Garci, Allen Dizon and Marco Morales a few years back? A sequel is set to be shown in cinemas within a few weeks. This time, Mocha Girls' lead singer Mocha Uson stars the sequel together with actor Ace Castro and several others in the indie film "Butas 2".

The film marks the debut performance of Rufert John Lirio whose character rendition is remarkably sterling. The film is once again under the direction of Alejandro "Bong" Ramos.

Butas 2: Synopsis

BUTAS 2 is a story of passion and deception told in three different points of view. As with the original BUTAS, viewers will be ushered in a world where love and lust transcend beyond the scope of what a peephole can offer, where truth isn’t flat but in fact multi-dimensional.
